Whether you’ve volunteered with us in the past or are hearing of us for the first time, we invite you to attend one of our upcoming Volunteer Orientation sessions to learn about all the amazing events and programs we have at 6:8 and what we are all about!

Encompass Team Mentor
Description: Form an ongoing relationship and journey with an individual working their way to personal and financial stability and holding them accountable to their budget and goals.
Tasks Involved: Become an intentional friend to an Encompass participant, attend weekly Encompass Gatherings, and follow-up with your Match between gatherings via text, phone, or meet-up, if desired, during the week.
Time Commitment: 2-2.5 hours per week on Monday Nights. Attend weekly gatherings on Mondays from 5:15-7:15pm (dinner and childcare/fun children’s financial education programming provided for you and your children) and any other contact with your Match outside of the gatherings that you agree upon.
Requirements: Mentor training classes, and a background check with short interview. Commitment: 18 – 24 months up to a lifetime! (Many Mentors form lifegiving relationships with their Match and maintime a long-time friendship!)
Encompass Small Group Facilitator:
Description: Implement the weekly|evening’s lesson plan. Help set SMARTER Goals and be an encourager as folks work their way toward their goals!
Tasks Involved: Attend weekly Encompass Small Group meetings. Read through provided lesson plan before each meeting to be prepared.
Time Commitment: 2-2.5 hours per week on Monday Nights. Attend weekly gatherings on Mondays from 5:15-7:15pm (dinner and childcare/fun children’s financial education programming provided for you and your children) and any other contact with your Match outside of the gatherings that you agree upon.
Requirements: Ally training classes, and a background check with a short interview. Commitment: We love our leaders to make at least a 1 year commitment for the sake of consistent relationships for our participants. This role is best for someone who is warm, patient and welcoming. A natural encourager who is flexible to varying personalities.
Encompass Community Team
Description: A team created to support participants in the Encompass Program. This team collectively has knowledge or connections to local resources, jobs, education, mental health services, and much more.
Tasks Involved: Reply to resource request emails when you have an area of expertise. Attend an Encompass meeting on a rotating schedule (usually once every 4-12 weeks. Only one Resource Team member to be present once Monthly) to answer questions and connect Encompass participants to resources.
Time Commitment: Varies depending on resource requests. About 1-4 hours per month.
Encompass Weekly Gatherings Team (A variety of roles)
Description: Lead or assist with the weekly Encompass Gatherings
Tasks Involved: select one or more of the following: set-up/clean-up, meal prep and serving, or facilitating classes.
Time Commitment: Monday evenings, 5:15-7:30pm monthly, weekly, or sporadic commitment.
Encompass Youth Programming Team
Description: Lead or assist with the children' s programming during our weekly Encompass Gatherings
Tasks Involved: set-up/clean-up, curriculum development, childcare, children’s program teachers, teen life-skills instruction and more.
Time Commitment: Monday evenings 5:15-7:30pm, monthly, weekly, or sporadic commitment.
