Did you know there's a wonderful group of 6:8 Volunteers who deliver groceries from Hansen's IGA to people's homes on Wednesday mornings? IGA receives the orders from customers needing delivery, shops for them, and hands off the bags to the Grocery Delivery Team to take to folks who aren't able to do their own shopping.

Beyond simply dropping off bags, the Volunteers offer a friendly face, a listening ear, and a connection to build a relationship, lessoning loneliness and isolation while ensuring everyone has access to the nourishment they need. Volunteers often express feeling a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment from these interactions, finding such joy in the relationships with the folks receiving groceries, but also others on this warm and friendly team. 

And! Every few months the Grocery Delivery Team meets for breakfast to enjoy each other's company and share stories.  If you're interested in joining this volunteer group (there's a brief training to complete before you deliver the first time), please reach out to jodi@makingservicepersonal.org at 6:8!

Need help getting your groceries?  Hansen's IGA and 6:8 can help! Free grocery delivery for residents within the Sauk Prairie Village Limits is available on Wednesday mornings.  To participate:

1. Call Hansen's IGA between 8am - Noon on Tuesdays with your grocery order: 608-643-2227

2. Pay for your groceries over the phone at the time of your order, or give a check to the Volunteer when your groceries are delivered.

3. Groceries are delivered by 6:8 volunteers on Wednesday mornings from 10am - Noon.
