Our Philosophy

The 6:8 Garden finds it's philosophy and purpose in the classic story of the Little Red Hen. Anyone helping to plant, water, weed, harvest, or care for the garden is able to receive a share of the harvest!

Providing fresh produce to the Sauk Prairie Food Pantry and Community Meal Program is a primary mission for the Garden.

Produce Cart

Collin M sought to make a significant impact with his Eagle Scout Project and decided to build a Garden Produce Cart for 6:8. Collin and his team spent over 500 hours planning, fundraising, and constructing this beautiful cart.

6:8 will use this cart to sell produce from our garden and from other cooperative growers in our program.

The Produce Cart will be located:

6:8 (821 Industry Rd, Sauk City) - Monday-Wednesday

Corner of 5th & Prairie St. (485 Prairie St, Prairie du Sac) - Friday-Sunday

"This project empowers people to permanently break out of poverty by teaching them the necessary skills to do so such as entrepreneurship, how to communicate and sell to people, how to prepare produce for sale, and how to run a business. This project is another crucial tool for 6:8 and Circles to use to decrease poverty in the Sauk Prairie community by 10% in the next ten years."
