Adult Leader Application

Thank you for expressing an interest in being a Small Group Leader for our High School Mission Trip.  Please take some time to read through the following. When we get your application (online) we will contact you to set up an informal interview either over the phone or in person. We are looking for a diverse group of adults who love God, want to be stretched in leadership experience, communicate well with teenagers, and can be flexible while working with other adults under the direction of the Trip Directors.  Though no one is guaranteed a spot, we are excited that you’re interested.

The following is so you know what you’re getting yourself into!!  =)

The role of a Small Group Leader on the Mission Trip:

• Facilitate (or co-facilitate) spirit filled discussions with your small group (6-10 teenagers)

• Conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ (Philippians 1:27)

• Have a specific area of responsibility (i.e. preparing breakfast, administrating first aid, etc.) 

• Be ready to enforce all trip expectations (including behavioral)

• Devote yourself to building relationships with teenagers, especially those in your small group, through out the day

• Actively encourage and engage youth in projects at the worksite

• Participate in all organized activities and provide supervision during free time

• Attend leaders meeting each night after youth go to bed

If selected as a Mission Trip Small Group Leader, you will be expected to attend all meetings and trainings outside of the trip (unless other arrangements are made) which include*:

• 1 Small Group Leader’s training meeting (date TBA) (including training, trip overview, itinerary, etc.)

• 4 Mission Trip Meetings with Students

• The Mission Trip

• Benefit Reception

We would also STRONGLY encourage you to get involved with fundraising for the trip to work towards paying for the projects we will be a part of on the trip.
