This Workshop is designed for parents/caregivers of 4K - Grade 5 Students. 

Choose 3 of the 5 topics to learn about. Each workshop will include interactive participation to give you practical tools and strategies to implement immediately and long term.

#1: Raising Caring, Empathetic Kids

Presenter: Sadie Sutter (Grand Avenue Guidance) & Heather Reader (SP Behavior Interventionist)

Description: "Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action" - Mother Teresa.  Join in learning how to make sure that your children grow up making the world a better place with their words and actions.


#2: Making Technology a Privilege, NOT a Right  

Presenter: Rod & Jane Spillane (Parents, Grandparents, and Bridges Teacher)

Description:  Has technology taken over your home?  Learn how to tame the beast.


#3: Mindfulness Strategies for Children

Presenter: Anne Uphoff (Bridges Guidance)

Description:  Our kids are busier than ever, and practicing mindfulness can help reduce their anxiety, improve focus and memory, and make falling asleep easier, research suggests.  In this session, we will experience some mindful practices you can use with your child to help them calm and fall asleep more easily.  We will also review some apps and YouTube videos that you might find helpful for mindful practices.


#4: Literacy at Home - Creating a Love of Reading

Presenter: Beth Hays (PDS Library)

Description: Research shows that reading to children and discussing the book as you read is the single best way to instill a love of reading. Learn 12 "at home" tips as well as Beth's favorite books and how she shares them.


#5: Strategies for Adventuresome Behavior

Presenter: Jen Smith (Bridges Teacher)

Description:  Having a child with "adventuresome behaviors" can be overwhelming for many families...but please know you are not alone! This session will cover what adventuresome behaviors are and what they are not. It will also give strategies for you and your child to utilize at home.

Dealing with Stress


Put together your own relaxation kit to take home.


Come and learn how stress can affect individuals, children or families and help identify what's causing it in your life. Learn and practice strategies that help prevent anxiety or manage depression.

Ladies Aerobics & Toning Exercise Class 

Ladies bring a water bottle and an exercise mat.  We have some extra hand weights but bring your own if you have them.  We have a great time working out to inspiring music and find that it rejuvenates not only our bodies but our minds as well.
