Past & Present

Since 2010, 6:8 has been fostering relationships between those who have needs and those who have gifts to share.

Our programing has reflected these relationships as we continue to discover how we can do more together as a community. Working out of a home office, 6:8 has grown to include Sauk Prairie Against Hunger - feeding people locally and globally; Learning for Life - connecting adults to education and resources; Honoring our Elders - celebrating our older adults; Fire on the River - a family friendly celebration bringing our community together while raising funds to support 6:8 programs; Community Garden - supplying food to the Sauk Prairie Food Pantry; High School Mission Trip & Silver Cord - encouraging youth to volunteer and get involved in their community.

We are grateful to our community for giving their time, space, and resources to bring 6:8 to this point.

Investing in our Future

As we expand our programing, volunteers, and staff beyond our founders we have come to realize the need for a space to allow 6:8 to sustainably grow for years to come.

The Goal

The Goal of the Investing in our Community Campaign is $797,900. We have purchased the land and existing 8,600 square foot building at 821 Industry Road in Sauk City. Funds will be used for the building purchase ($297,900) and renovation ($350,000) in addition to purchasing appliances, furniture technology, supplies, and utilities for the first year of operation ($150,000). This Total reflects $90 per square foot purchased, renovated, and fully furnished.

6:8 has established a pledge payment period of three years in order to allow the generous levels of giving needed to make the campaign a success. When possible, 6:8 would receive the first year's pledge in full at the time of commitment, but pledges may require various payment terms. Gifts of all sizes are welcomed and deeply appreciated. 6:8 is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

6:8 also accepts outright gifts of stock, real estate, and planned gifts. Please consult your financial planner regarding the gift that is most advantageous for your.

From the Directors

We are honored to call Sauk Prairie HOME and are humbled by the involvement and generosity of so many in Sauk Prairie and beyond who give of themselves to make Sauk Prairie the amazing community it is.  You have given of your time, your skills and talents, your sweat, your financial donations, and your prayers; you have welcomed 6:8 into your businesses, churches, schools, and homes; and now it is time for all of this generosity to culminate and continue as 6:8 opens a building to serve Sauk Prairie in more and exciting ways.

We are hearing God call us to focus on building community alongside of education and food programs.  And like Isaiah (6:8), we are saying “Here we are, send us!”  We are thrilled to partner with the Sauk Prairie Area Food Pantry who will lease space from 6:8 and give them more than twice their current square footage to better serve their families.  As we encounter people during free meals, various classes, meetings, and casual hang-out time before and after programs, we will learn more about individual needs and how we can train people to come along-side each other to support, encourage, and challenge one another towards love and good deeds (Hebrews 10: 24) with a hand up rather than a hand out.

Plans for the building reflect our commitment to relationships alongside education and food programs.  More than half of the building will be used for the Food Pantry, Teaching Kitchen, and Dining area.  Another quarter is designated for education areas including job training and finance.  The final quarter includes an office to encourage collaboration between 6:8 staff, volunteers, leadership teams, and the food pantry.  We are excited to focus on the people of Sauk Prairie and invite you into this space to eat, learn, share, and grow together.

Will you invest in this vision and join us as we give of our resources for the good of Sauk Prairie through this 6:8 building project?  Your donation is an investment in someone’s future!  Sharing what you have today will pay dividends in our community for generations to come.

God Bless,

John & Sarah  Ramthun
